Pastor's Blog
Weekly Emessage NEW HOME!

Hey! I'm glad you're here. This blog gives me a chance to sort of "unpack" some thoughts prior to devoting a ton of time into preparation for a Teaching Series. Take time to read my blog - BUT EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY - take a minute and share your comments with me. You may see somethings I've missed or have a creative idea that could carry considerable impact. Together ... who knows? We might change a few lives!

Crossing Over
October 28, 2009

If you were in services with us at The Garden this past weekend, this may seem like "old news." However, I believe that God is leading each of us to prepare ourselves for something new. Something fresh. Something exciting. God is asking us to prepare ourselves for a "Crossing Over."  Crossing Over is God's way of getting you from "where you is" to "where is not." In each of our lives, there are places where "we are not." We are not accomplishing God's best - living God's best - experiencing God's best. Jesus isn't happy simply leaving us where we are. He wants to get us to wh ... read more
Rain Dancers
February 04, 2009

I’ve met way too many people who are attempting to wait out the storms of life. This mentality presents a very real issue. Storms are just a part of life. One could easily say, Storms Happen! I’ve noticed something interesting in my journey through life. Unhappy people are never to blame. It seems as if it’s always somebody else’s fault. A spouse has treated them unfairly, or a teacher is being mean. Maybe it’s their ungrateful children, or, I know, “it’s the governments fault!” Unhappy people tend to buy into the victim mentality lock-stock-and-barrel. On the other hand, most of the h ... read more
Finding Time
January 15, 2009

Want to have some good fun? Try this little experiment. Offer this response the next time somebody asks you, “What are you doing?” Tell them, “I’m trying to figure out what to do with ALL THIS TIME!” You’ll be amazed with the various replies you’re sure to receive. Almost everyone we talk to today shares a similar complaint. “There just isn’t enough time in a day to get everything done!” Nobody seems to have enough time. Isn’t that odd? Everyone has the same amount as the next guy, but it seems as if each one of them is in need of more. One would think that if time could be captured, bottled ... read more
21 Day Fast Guildelines
January 05, 2009

A lot of questions have been asked regarding the 21 Fast. Listed below are some simple guidelines that should help you during a 'Daniel Fast.' Remember, there are several types and many different ways to fast. Don't get "religious" or "legalistic" about any of it. Use this spiritual tool to remove your flesh from the throne of your life and offer that position to God. You'll be very glad you did!  Step 1: Be Specific Daniel was not vague in his objection to the Babylonian diet. He defined the problem immediately. The king's food was against dietary ... read more
Pocket Full of Change
December 31, 2008

And He Who is seated on the throne said, See! I make all things new. Revelation 21:5a The Amplified It's been said that God walks around with change in His pocket. Are You Ready for some Change? One of the most amazing things about the God we serve is that He refuses to contained by human limitations. We look at particular circumstances and situations and quickly assume that we've discerned the end of the matter. God looks at the very same issue and see's something completely different. He see's a hope for a future, regardless of how messed up it may appear to the natural eye. ... read more
God's Ultimate Bailout Plan
December 24, 2008

Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?   Looking back over the year is always a practice that proves to be inspiring. This year is no different. Just twelve months ago the Lord spoke to my heart and I felt as if God was saying that He desired for His people to be in the best condition they had ever been in before. It was clear to me that His thoughts were not limited to the realm of finances or to spiritual matters that I had been immediately attracted to consider. ... read more
Tis the Season!
December 10, 2008

Okay. Traffic is heavy, parking is limited, lines are long and time isn’t available. So what else is new? We’re pushed and pulled from every direction. There are Holiday parties to attend, ornaments to hang, walls to deck, presents to wrap, lights to string and the annual fruitcake to dispose of. It all comes with the territory. Throw in some appointments that can’t be moved, deadlines that can’t be met and window bearing envelopes that haven’t been opened and you’ve got yourself a Holiday Season.  If we’re not careful, our focus can get totally out of whack. Many of us are attempting to ... read more
Tuned Up (Revisited)
November 20, 2008

What we've learned is this: God does not respond to what we do; we respond to what God does. We've finally figured it out. Our lives get in step with God and all others by letting him set the pace, not by proudly or anxiously trying to run the parade. Romans 3:28 The Message   I was introduced to a guitar at a fairly early age. As a matter of fact, some of my first memories involve guitars and street corners. I didn't actually begin traveling to the evangelistic meetings with my father until I had reached the mature of age of 7 or 8 years old. By the time ... read more
FROM BEGINNING TO END
November 13, 2008

If you’ve been around me for any length of time, you’ve probably heard Jeremiah 29:11,  at least a time or two. “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”   Much of our ministry is about connecting people with the hope of a future that God planned for them from their beginning. I refuse to be satisfied with simply making it to heaven some day and I am determined to motivate you to taking a position far beyond that, as well. I realize that in the sweet by and by we will all meet on that ... read more
FROM COURTSHIP TO COMMITMENT
November 06, 2008

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Psalm 57:7     If you’re married, you can easily remember that section of life that preceded your wedding day. It is a portion of time that I refer to as “The Courtship Realm.” Most of us have no trouble relating to this particular season of life. Even those who have yet to walk down the aisle to say their “I do’s” possess an adequate understanding. It is a time when everything looks, smells, tastes and feels good. It’s almost a euphoric state in which we enjoy every aspect of a thing or person. Very m ... read more
Have You Got The Time?
October 31, 2008

"Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek, inquire for and of Him and crave Him with the whole heart." Psalm 119:2 The Amplified There is something special about Whole Hearted Seekers of God. I realize that most of those who willingly take time to read this blog are in the group that we would likely label as God Seekers. Oh sure, there may be one or two readers out there in cyberspace who aren’t any more interested in seeking God than they are about receiving an IRS audit, but most of us would fall into the category known as seekers of G ... read more
You Can't Lose With The Stuff I Use!
October 23, 2008

But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. James 1:22 Amplified       Doers of the Word don’t lose. They win. When we do what He said, He produces what He promised, Every Single Time! This revelation was the empowering force of Paul’s consistent victory. He said, “I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]. Philippi ... read more
New and Improved!
October 16, 2008

I know it seems impossible, but like it or not, we’re quickly approaching that time of year again when we have to head out into the danger zone that has come to be known as the city mall. We’ll be searching high and low to find the special someone’s in our life the ultimate gift to convey the love we hold in our hearts for them. Shopping. Oh the joy that floods my soul!   To be totally honest, I actually enjoy the entire experience. My favorite part, however, isn’t the countless hours spent on the hunt, but that tiny parcel of time that possesses the possibility for exuberant joy to m ... read more
CHOSEN (that would be YOU!)
October 08, 2008

The Lord Has Chosen You!   The fact that we’ve literally been selected by God is an incredible reality to ponder. It can be difficult to fathom. “God, the Creator of the universe, picked me? Say you’re serious!” History informs us that we’re far from the first to be chosen by The Almighty. Moses didn’t just stumble upon an opportunity to become the leader of millions of people. He was chosen. Joseph wasn’t just lucky when it came to finding his way to the top of the list either. Think about it. He was sold by brothers into slavery, thrown into prison as a result of false accusations by ... read more
